Accessibility Statement

Effective Date: March 1, 2026 · Last Updated: March 1, 2026

Angel & Manna Bakery is committed to ensuring our website, online ordering platform, and in-store experience are accessible to everyone — including people with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to fresh, artisan baked goods and the joy that comes with them.

Our Commitment

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those who are blind, deaf, have motor impairments, or have cognitive disabilities.

Our digital accessibility efforts are guided by federal law (ADA Title III, Section 508) and Massachusetts law, including the Massachusetts Equal Rights Act (M.G.L. c. 93, §103) and the Massachusetts Public Accommodations Law (M.G.L. c. 272, §98), which prohibit discrimination on the basis of disability in places of public accommodation. The Massachusetts Attorney General enforces these protections under M.G.L. c. 93A.

We view accessibility as an ongoing effort — not a one-time checkbox. Our team continuously reviews and improves the accessibility of our digital and in-person experiences.

What We're Doing

Our current accessibility efforts include:

  • Semantic HTML: We use properly structured HTML to ensure our content is interpretable by screen readers and assistive technologies
  • Keyboard Navigation: All core functionality on our website can be accessed using a keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse
  • Color Contrast: We maintain a minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio for all body text and 3:1 for large text and UI components, per WCAG 2.2 AA requirements
  • Alternative Text: All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text for screen reader users
  • Focus Indicators: Visible focus indicators are provided for all interactive elements
  • Responsive Design: Our website is designed to work across a range of devices, screen sizes, and zoom levels up to 400%
  • Form Labels: All form inputs include descriptive, associated labels and error messages
  • No Time Limits: We do not impose time limits on any user interaction without providing appropriate warnings and extensions
  • Skip Navigation: A "skip to main content" link is available at the top of each page for keyboard users

In-Store Accessibility

Our physical bakery location is designed in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Massachusetts Architectural Access Board Regulations (521 CMR), which in many respects exceed federal ADA standards. Our in-store features include:

  • ADA- and 521 CMR-compliant entrance with level access and automatic doors (clear opening width ≥ 32")
  • Accessible counter height at one register (≤ 36" per 521 CMR 26.00) for wheelchair and mobility aid users
  • Accessible route throughout the bakery floor with adequate turning radius
  • Accessible restroom facilities compliant with 521 CMR 30.00
  • Large-print menus and allergen guides available upon request
  • Staff trained in disability awareness and assistance under Massachusetts requirements
  • Accessible parking spaces in our lot, compliant with 521 CMR 23.00 (van-accessible space available)
  • Service animals are always welcome per Massachusetts law (M.G.L. c. 272, §98A)

If you encounter any physical accessibility barrier at our location, please inform a staff member immediately or contact us so we can address it. Complaints regarding physical accessibility may also be submitted to the Massachusetts Architectural Access Board at (617) 727-0660 or mass.gov/aab.

Known Limitations

We are actively working to improve our digital accessibility. Some areas that are currently in progress include:

  • Certain older PDF menus and documents may not be fully accessible — we are converting these to accessible formats
  • Some third-party embedded content (e.g., map widgets) may not fully conform to WCAG 2.2 AA — we are working with those providers on improvements

Standards and Conformance

We aim to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We conduct periodic accessibility audits using a combination of automated testing tools (including axe, Lighthouse, and WAVE) and manual testing with assistive technologies, including:

  • NVDA and JAWS screen readers on Windows
  • VoiceOver on macOS and iOS
  • TalkBack on Android
  • Keyboard-only navigation testing

Feedback and Contact

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website and in-store experience. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please let us know:

When contacting us, please describe the specific barrier you encountered, the assistive technology you are using (if any), and the page or feature where you experienced the issue. We take all feedback seriously and will work to resolve issues promptly.
